Lecturer and wife fear arrest for supporting Gen Fonseka

A lecturer and his wife today sought anticipatroy bail from the Colombo Magistrate claiming they were to be arrested by the CID for supporting Gen (retd) Sarath Fonseka during the presidential election campaign.





Colombo Additional Magistrate, Lal Bandara Ranasinghe ordered the OIC of the CID to be present in courts on Feb 12 to inquire into the matter.

The lecturer Chaminda Porage who is also a Managaing Director of a private institute said that he and his wife were being followed and they fear they would be arrested.

They told courts they were making the application as the whereabouts of 13 persons arrested from Fonseka's office were not known so far.
