Pelpita appointed telecommunications regulatory chief

Director of the Government Information Department Anusha Pelpita has been appointed head of the Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Lanka.

 

He succeeds Director General Priyantha Kariyapperuma who resigned from the position two days ago.

President Mahinda Rajapaksa has made the appointment, said secretary to the president Lalith Weeratunga.

It is unclear whether Mr. Pelpita would continue in the capacity of Director of Government Information.
